Performance

Hi

I've HP-UX L-class box running Oracle, MQ Series and Netscape iplane web server. Is there a way to find out how much of CPU oracle, MQ Series and Netscape is using respectively? Any help is highly appreciated.

ramesh,

YES, using "glance" you can "group" programs togetther into "applications" and see them as a whole. Plus you can drill into the "application group" and see individual processes.

You have to purchase glance, but it's cost is worth it. You can try the "trial" version on your application CD's. Good for 30 days.

Also, look into perfview for long term data collection and reporting - management loves this stuff!

Hi Ramesh

You need to ahve perf view to be installed to collect and display data specific for the processes . It gives a good o/p interms of graphs etc for any process or fiels you specify. The only other way is to may be check through top and grep for the process .

DO you work with glance ? It also gives the cpu utilization but would need more efforts to accumalate the data.
