Permission denied on server. (Upload)

I have configured anonymous user for ftp on my HP-UX 11.23 System, ftp user able to download files, but not able to upload files. when trying to upload " Permission denied on server. (Upload)" error comes.
can u gurus tell me the step by step procedure to configure anonymous ftp to solve this issue.
It's kind of fun to do the impossible

It may not be configuration. If you used sam to configure anonymous ftp its a few menu clicks.

The next step is to make sure the permission on the directory the anonyous ftp users use has permissions to write. cd to it as root and do an ll

However the decision to enable anonymous ftp is itself problematic. It will cause you to fail security audits and is better replaced by a system that creates temporary ftp ids.

Where I work there is a web page for users that need temporary ftp ids. It trigers a unix script that also runs an at command which deletes the account 4 days later. This is something that meets needs but can pass a SOX audit because we have indeed passed our SOX audit.

Thanks Steve for reply, but business ppl demanding it, so there is no other option. We hav to use it....anyway I will try it using SAM...n get back to u.

Hi Awadhesh,

Try using ProFTPD which is i think, better than default in-built FTP server. ProFTP is part of Internet express package as well,
