ping is giving error

Hi,

My machine is HPUnix 11.23, if i ping any system with hostname or ipaddress it is giving error
# ping (hostname)unihpux1
icmp:unknown protocal
please help me on this , what might be the problem

can you check if the following file exists:

/etc/protocols


e.g.


$ cat /etc/protocols

the problem is in the nsswitch.conf file

the entries are wrong when i am going nslookup

Now it is working
