Solution
Hi there Charlene.
I think that the best way to tackle this is to do some light bedside reading! For the SG side of things go to http://docs.hp.com/hpux/ha/index.html particularly read the "Configuring OPS Clusters with ServiceGuard OPS Edition (HP-UX 11.0" and certainly with regard to the Oracle side of theings, get as much as you can on the Master Cluster Toolkit.
Also "MC/ServiceGuard: Designing Disaster Tolerant MC/ServiceGuard Clusters (HP-UX 10.x, HP-UX 11.0)" and "Choosing the Right Disk Technology in a High Availability Environment DRAFT Version 2.0, August 1996"
On the timeframe aspect read "subject: Time estimates for ServiceGuard/oracle installation" in the Service Guard forum.

Re: planning a highly available system using Service Guard OPS
One ratherimportant question has to be asked:
Have you ever done this before?
If not then I would say you are being asked to do an awful lot without the tools/know-how.
If you have not, then I would strongly recommend you at least read the manuals, but you would be in a much better position if you have attended the SG OPS Edition Course.
I also recommend you ensure you have the latest patch for the version of SG OPS Edition, and be aware of a previous posting I placed regarding installation problems with the December2000 release CD set.
Good Luck.

Re: planning a highly available system using Service Guard OPS
MCSG requires a very intimate knowledge of not only the cluster software and setup but also how the applications work (start/stop and communication). While you can get the basic SG package running in a few days, a good SG implementation using the applications will require several WEEKS to implement and you'll need some good scripting skills.
