Re: Please Post Forums Issues - February 2005
=======
Someone just posted a reply to the above question. There 26 in total to the question.
=======
(Missing 'are' before the '26'.)
I guess it may be due to an attempt to deal with 'is/are' depending on whether there's 1 or more replies, but if so it's not working. I'd rather see 'There are 1 in total' than have the verb omitted :-)

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - February 2005
done (eventually)???
13 minutes is pretty fast where I come from.
Good job.
Now public: I'm going back to Israel today. I will be there until March 2.
I have a 12 hour layover in Frankfurt on the way back, March 2-3. Any itrc members there?
I may be emailed via my customer support form:
http://www.isnamerica.com/isninquire.shtml
Nobody worry about erratic or non-existent forum activity, I don't have my Internet Access locked down just yet.
0 Points Please. Good wishes always excepted, but in my open threads please.

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - February 2005
I have a little annoying thing. I go to my personal profile and I am logged in as expected.I click on support and driver which points to:
http://welcome.hp.com/country/de/ger/support.html
From there I click on unix and alphaserver which points to:
http://europe.itrc.hp.com/?LANGUAGE_OPTION=german
This results in login not possible.
Why am I directed to Europe if I am logged in the othe location?
thanks,
Michael

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - February 2005
in addition to Pete's no. 4 (ahh - when we'll get it?) ;-)))
It should be possible to disable notification in a thread when the thread was closed (better - all notifications are deleted automatically?)
Now I have to go to my profile - notifications - find the thread - submit unchecked message.
Best wishes
Volkmar

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - February 2005
Can we get the moved messages suprressed or at least have a seperate pull down for moved messages.
I'm generally looking to see if I can help someone who never got a response at all and the moved messages are "noise" that makes it a bit harder to find what I'm looking for.

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - February 2005
A weird one this time!
I have started a Congrats thread for à ge Rønning:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=816073
and asked Merijn for his usual graph for it.
Merijn could NOT produce it!
After some debugging by Merijn it appears to have to do with the first letter in the name being diacritical, see:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=804511
Now I DO know that Scandinavian à , pronounced like O, often called A-ring, can also be spelled Aa (double A), but THIS was HIS way to enter his name.
And I guess the problem will be broader, because several times I noticed people using Unicode personal names.
If those names are allowed as personal names (which I think they should), then they should also appear in the various retrieval functionalities...
Since the Congrat stream was my stream, and I like to have it is neat as possible, I hope this can be cured in a reasonable time to allow Merijn's magic to be added before it becomes time to close the thread.
Proost.
Have one on me.

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - February 2005
The debugging I did was checking my stats scripts against the current reality, and I didn't see any ID outside the 'a'..'z' range (folded downcase). So I won't be able to find any data on people that do not have their ID listed in the global member list. (Cheryl, Dan, see my Feb stat thread for more specifics), so all people that have a digit to start their name with or a diacritical, won't have stats in *my* system.
Cheryl, please mail me personal if anything changes, so I can alter the script(s).
Enjoy, Have FUN! H.Merijn

Here is a thread that doesn't feel home in the hp-ux forums, but I don't really know where it belongs.
