Re: Please Post Forums Issues - June 2005

Hi Cheryl or Dan,
this thread http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=912833&admit=716493758+1119267731981+28353475
doesn't send me reply until I opened it again. This works great for me because ITRC doesn't send a lot of e-mail.
Dan, do you remembere when I asked you for this feature?

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - June 2005

I've been getting itrc notices on my threads hours, sometimes days after the actual activity. My logs do not indicate connection attempts from known HP servers except right when the mail is delivered.

This leads me to believe there may be an outbound issue at HP. Let me know if I can provide further assistance.

Cheryl or Dan, Hello, is anybody there?

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - June 2005

Shawn - Yes, we are here and it's not the curse words that got our attention.

Thanks for everyone's feedback. For the past month or so, the servers have been updated. As part of the update process, email is disrupted. I am sure everyone understands this process of updating while continuing to work in a Live environment.

Hang in there and thank you for your patience.

.... and no more curse words please.

Thanks!

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - June 2005

A big favor.

I made a couple of horrendous spelling decisions in this thread:

I've had some success with yum.

I know half of itrc probably thinks I'm illiterate anyway, but this series of errors has touched a nerve.

TIA if someone is kind enough to correct this.

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - June 2005

Thanks Cheryl for finally saying something about this issue. I hope you noticed that my curse words were in fact just gibberish. I would never use real cursing in the forms.
Patrick, thanks for your concern but....
Shawn, in this case is a male name, my kids don't call me mommy, ha ha

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - June 2005

Cheryl,

I am glad to be informed, although (like many others, obviously) I would have prefered to be informed beforehand.

But, from a technical perspective: SHOULD such updates even be NOTICED by the users? (well, except maybe for some degradation of performance)?
The mechanics of Rolling Upgrades are decades old by now!

Anyway: DO keep up the good works!

Proost.

Have one (or more, you have been to straining times that deserve them!) on me.

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - June 2005

I was on vacation last week and when I checked my email on Monday I had not received any "New HP Forum Discussions" messages. This is very unusual. As of Wednesday, I still have not received any. My email firewall/security person did not find any messages being blocked from hp.com.

Is this function not working?

I have enabled email notification on this thread and I am receiving emails for replies to it. I am not receiving the daily "summary" emails.

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - June 2005

Is it just me or does everybody else lose the css definitions of the page ? I am getting a very badly formatted forums page with "Times New Roman" character set instead og the usual "arial" and the colors are off as well, for the past hour or a little longer.

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - June 2005

Hi Mel,
I also see the same thing, but only occasionally, and I hadn't identified the cause, only noticed that the font went 'funny'.

I've seen it on and off for some time, but as I say, most days it's fine.
