Re: Please Post Forums Issues - March 2005

Sorry if this has been brought up before or if it's a sensitive subject. No offense intended. (I did search and didn't get any hits on this topic. :-)

I'm suggesting that "Business related issues" should be moved.

Looking at the "Business related issues" category which is listd first on the forums page -- I realize the listing is alphabetical. But look at the large number of threads that have to be moved -- is there a problem?

On the first page of the subcategory, I see that of 30 posts, 16 (soon to be 17) were moved to correct categories. Examining the other pages, there's an interesting story. It appears that prior to February 2003, the policy was to leave questions in place; afterward, to move them to the correct location (I like the moving).

My guess is that one reason it gets so many "incorrect" posts is because of the category name and location. People read the forums page, find "business related issues" and post there without reading or reading further. "Yes, my question is a business related issue: my win2k password, when will 11.0 become obsolete, make_net_recovery." Like electricity, I think users take the path of least resistance. :-)

So if this category were moved elsewhere or renamed, I think it would be better used -- better signal to noise ratio! Easier to read and use as intended.

Just my $.02, no stress.

I was wondering if you can move this post to the "system administration" category:

Thanks!
