Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)
Yesterday on two seprate occasions, I attempted to submit replies. In each case, I was asked to login and I did. The response after my reply was something like 'Thank you for your first reply' (it was anything but).
When I returned to the main forum displa, I noticed Welcome () indicating that I was not logged in.
I've never seen this one before, Clay

Thanks...I have not heard of the issue you described (in my short time with the Forums!). This has been noted -- thanks for the quick feedback.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)
Whenever we press submit button it gives us conformation page. At the end of that page we have only one option to go to the forums > hp-ux > category.
Can we add one more URL on that page so we can go back to the forums > hp-ux.

I've experienced the same desire to go the the next higher level in the Forums. I will note that enhancement request and see what can be done. Thanks for your feedback!

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)
I, too, have had similar experience as Clay, with the forum not logging me in automagically when I connect. Last time I noticed it was about a week ago (the 25th, I think). Disconnected completely, and came back in, and I was logged in. I thought at first that it was a cookies issue here, but later examination of cache showed that the cookies were present and etc.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)
I'm still seeing occassional "incomplete pages" returned. About an hour ago I tried to refresh the HP-UX FamilyHome page and received an otherwise error-free page of only 3-threads. The telltale sign (beyond that, obviously!) is that the selector for 'pages 1-10'; the 'useful links' and the 'top read solutions' are all missing.
Regards!

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)
One of my usual requests: Feed the squirrels -- they're turning the wheels too slowly. Frankly, if I had the resources of HP and ran a website as slow as the ITRC, I'd be ashamed.
Whether it's more server capacity, better site design, and/or additional internet bandwidth. Please, please, please do whatever it takes to remedy the lethargic ITRC response times.
I also love Sachin's idea of a link on the confirmation page to return to the forums > hp-ux family home.
Lastly (and "sorry" to those who despise server push), would it be feasable to put in maybe a half-hour refresh on the server side, so that those of us who leave the hp-ux forum open in a browser can "automatically" have fresh data displayed periodically without having to refresh manually?
Thanks for listening.
Cheers,
Jim

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)
Here an issue, that happened to me the first time :
I did a reply to a message, suddenly that message was not in the forums anymore, but i found this line in my public profiles first under recent responses, then under solutions after being assigned points :
/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,1150,0x2cdef9beca68d511abcd0090277a778c,00.html
How can that happen ?
After slow response, ssi errors and all the stuff this is something new.
Rgds

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)
The Forum is at an absolute crawl this morning. There are very, very few posts and response time to refresh the HP-UX family page can be measured in double-digits. I am *not* seeing the same sluggishness in the Maintenance and Support areas (TKB and Patch databases).
Regards!

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)
When I try to look at the list of forum members, 99% of the time I can not get in. The page is:
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/MemberList/1,1159,,00.html
and the error is:
Error processing SSI file '/cm/MemberListContent/1,1161,!,00.html'

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)
whenever we logged into forum (hp-ux) usually it takes us to to general, if we answered any questions say on network/database after acknowledgement we'll be in network/database area. can you give us the URL for all domains(network/sysstemadmin/database/general...) in acknowledgement page itself so that we can choose

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)
1) The forum has been extremely slow recently; I have been avoiding using it because of this issue. Hp really shouldn't be having these types of issues...
2)I have been asked for my login on each login attempt. This is a pain because the login name isn't my name. I have to look it up each time. This rarely happened in the past.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)
2) If i close session without logout, when the next person try to login, he is prompted for login but he is getting logged into my account...
3) Today i submitted one reply but it doesn't appear, no errors encountered...
rest all fine...
Cheers...

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)
I would really appreciate that the EditBox ( where we put our replies) would be in the same window like the OriginalMessgae and the PreviousResponses. This allow us, in case of long message, not to forget part of the answer.
Also, if there is some kind of checkBox which allow the messageInitiator ( person who issue a question ) to terminate his question ( that's means, Initiator will not have future look on the responses ).
Thanks alot for HP allowing such forums and communication between us.
By the way, I was thinking today, what's about changing the HP Official sentence :
- HP invent
by
- All you need is HP ???

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)
I frequently get redirected to the American site and have to return to the European site after which I'm returned to forum home. This typically follows after clicking a link in some post that has us-support in it... but I have seen it randomly happen in Family homes also.. I'm just wondering if anyone else has this problem... or if its a known issue.
My suggestion to change the color of the Assign Points button still applies..
The mechanism to assign points is too cumbersome for multiple replies, You should be able to assign points to all responses on the same page.
Later,
Bill

Agree with Bill and Kamal about assign point and reply under the question. (Good point)

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)
Like the others I've experienced slow
response, error 404 and screens not
completing to be drawn on several
occassions. What I do to get around some
of the problems is to not open the reply
message screen until I have my reply
ready. I prepare this from my windows
notepad (yuk!) and then copy and paste my
answer into the replay page.
For me this usually works. Sometimes
persistance pays off!

Michael

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)
I would really be pleased to have our reply multiEditBox more wide and in the same window like the initial request and the answers.
This allow us to have a look on what had been written and not repeat nor to forget part of the question.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)
Our customers in SA are having a problem downloading patches, they say the webpage is too slow and sometimes it disconnect them.
