Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)

Hi Dan,
Yesterday was a bad day...
Today though when a post has a lot of replies, I get it after a moment (long?) but trunkated, though clean, I mean the bottom displays correctly with the printing instruction etc... but if you count the replies you would see 15 when you were expecting 60...
Have a good week-end

All the best

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)

This is a "the dog *didn't* bark" type of thing.

The ITRC forum, while slow, has been pretty stable for a while now. No major glitches, no massive data losses, I think you have got the best hawgtied at last.

Now, for a new one............. Have you guys thought about creating tools for those of us who have or are in the process of, linking 40 or more handles to ITRC? I do believe that it is going to be horrendous and am quaking in my boots at the prospect.

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for the tremendous feedback you continue to provide me, both on enhancements and issues.

**Paul Courry -- regarding linking multiple system handles, I don't have an immediate answer for you, but I am looking into it. I will let you know what I find out.

Hi Dan,

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE :

It would be really great if you can plan to modify the answer window to include the question which we are replying, to have the answer edit box greater in width and height.

I really spent time scrolling to see what points I answered and what is left and which part of the quetion needs to be concluded.

Really thanks if you can do that.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)

Hello All,

**Paul Courry - tools for linking multiple system handles is being discussed, but no ETA at this time. If I hear more, I'll let you know.

**Magdi - your request is on the enhancement list. I'm unable to say when it will become available, but this is something more than one member has requested and is listed high.

**Mladen - the "members list" page has a known issue that produces SSI errors intermittently. A patch is planned and will take care of the problem.

Best Regards,
Dan

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)

Dan,

Thank you for providing feedback from the comments / suggestions / problems that are posted here. It is nice to know that you are reading and taking seriously what we post here.

If I may now pose a question: Would it be possible for you to let us know what the enhancement / bug list contains for the forums? If something is on the list to be looked at, then we wouldn't have to bother you by repeatedly posting the same suggestion(s) or problems.

Thanks for all your efforts!

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)

Hi Dan,

I am new to the forums. Is there a way to see your points scored other than going to a reply submitted by myself and click on my name ? In other words: why can't I see my points in "my profile" ?

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)

Hi Dan:

Recently, more and more people are posting their new messages twice, including me:) The reason why they did it because the default(or the first) category is "database" when they post their new messages.

Can you change to "general" or "system administraion" instead of "database" to make our forum more effective? Because those two are the most active forums. Thanks.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)

Hi Dan:

I suspect that the "New Feature Suggestion" (NFS) list, as another company once referred to its solicitation of enhancements, is now quite long.

I've submitted many myself when Shayne was in your place, as I know others have. A long time ago I proposed a place here on the Forum where new suggestions could be examined. In particular, see my comments dated Dec. 18, 2000 in:

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,1150,0x66b414a24fd1d4118fef0090279cd0f9,00.html

We even had a couple of short discussions in a post about the merit of having all suggestions posted for edification:

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,1150,0xc56cdfe5920fd5118fef0090279cd0f9,00.html

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,1150,0xf1ae14a24fd1d4118fef0090279cd0f9,00.html

With regard to Shawn's suggestion, I would (again) suggest *not* preloading a valid category at all. Make the user choose from the drop-down.

In all, it seems that a lot of very easily implemented suggestions have fallen into a black-hole. Isn't it time to give some of the developer's attention to implementing new features as well as patching and battling performance problems?

With my regards...

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)

I had a similar error earlier today after selecting the link "more ..." under "Management Software"

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)

Please add the following capability to the ITRC as a whole:

Make it easy for our computers to send an email to the ITRC and place a hardware call, just as if I were sitting at a PC with a web browser.

With ITO under Openview you can train Openview to pay attention to console messages. Why not allow various packages a standard interface under which they can log hardware calls to the RC, preferably under the ITRC umbrella!

Re: Please Report Forums Issues! (7/2)

Hi Dan.
Sorry to bother you again.
Date/time : July 26th 2001 / from 07:30 CET
nearly every time, if i want to go to another page in the ITRC forum, i get the message
'page cannot be displayed' and so on.
After pressing the refresh button half a dozen times it can happen, that i get access to the required page. This is just not satisfying.
