Have fun..
But this is disturbing this serious technical forum.....
Dan, it could be the time to use a new feature : erase a thread !!

Much better!
I hadn't bothered with the graphs because I frankly find the raw output easier to digest. The graph is "busy".

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - April 2003
It's been slow all morning but somebody just hit the stop button around 11:20 AM EST. It took 560 seconds to open this thread. Procura stats:
2003-04-09 09:55:13 108714 5.81 s 18.27 kbps
2003-04-09 10:05:34 108765 38.42 s 2.76 kbps

2003-04-09 10:47:58 108461 40.89 s 2.59 kbps

2003-04-09 11:33:57 108406 199.19 s 0.53 kbps
As you can see from the 11:20 and 11:30 entries, "performance" has completely gone to hell. The forums are completely unusable in this state.

I can almost set my watch by these slowdowns. I would think escalation of this problem is in order.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - April 2003
This looks very much like Latif???s work, but I can???t find his name anywhere near it (??).
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0xef7a19434a69d711abdc0090277a778c,00.html
You ask why it looks like he was involved? I???m sure that I???m not the only one that remembers the thread that he messed up less than a month ago. If memory serves me correctly, it looked a lot like this one.
Any chances of fixing it?
Latif,
Sorry for the cheap shot, it was just too easy ;-)

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - April 2003
it's getting boring, but I always encouter problems when trying to reply in the morning. Can you clean up these 2 threads, my answer appeared way too much:
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x098319434a69d711abdc0090277a778c,00.html
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x008019434a69d711abdc0090277a778c,00.html
Before these 2 answers, I already submitted an answer without any problems. I don't understand where the problem is.

I had such high hopes. It was already after noon EDT and performance had been fairly acceptable all morning (a little spotty here and there but no major stoppages). Then, around 12:15, somebody hit the "whoa" button:

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - April 2003
Tried to stay out of this today, but I have been getting massive numbers of 404 errors on my first attempt to visit a page today and usually all I have to do is to hit refresh. I have already cleared the cache and history on the machine, but that doesn???t help a bit.
The last error that I got that prompted me to post to this thread is this one:
Error processing SSI file '/cm/QuestionAnswerContent/1,11870,LoggedIn!0x0b8519434a69d711abdc0090277a778c!0!1!0!0!0,00.html'
When that one popped up after all of the 404s, I figured it was time to clue you in on the situation from the US Mid West.
At this point in time, the forums are the next best thing to useless.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - April 2003
I've had it with the slowness on the Networking forum. My monthly complaint has not done any good. As of today I am boycotting the Networking Forum.
If it is not important enough for you to fix the extra 10 second delay (over that of the HPUX and most other forums when they are working correctly) I don't see why I should waste my time there.
Maybe I can get Roger to complain about it since you opened a new Microsoft XP forum right after he asked you and I'd been asking for months.
Ron
PS Now that I think about it maybe we should all boycott the ITRC forums until HP gets their act together. This daily slowdown in the response time of all the forums should not be tolerated. Go to your management, Dan, and tell them you need more capacity because the natives are getting restless!

Just for grins I just went to the Networking forums and I did not see anything amiss. It seems to load at the same speed as the HP-UX forum for me.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - April 2003
Thought the 404 errors were partly on my end.
I am getting them frequently as well.
They seem to come and go in waves.
One minute, I can connect all over the forum, the next, wham, brick wall. Although with a little brute forcing, (clicking over and over) I can get it.
Thanks,
Kel

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - April 2003
Response time all day today has been SLOW. Now, starting this afternoon, I am seeing 404-errors when I submit a response (yet it *is* taken); and SSI errors on page refreshes. This is truly a sad state of affairs.
Regards!
