Re: Please Report Forums Issues - November 2003!

Hi Dan

Whenever I try to search the Forums I get the following error:
"could not login

Your User ID and Password are not found at this IT Resource Center site. Please check and re-enter your User ID and Password. Also, be sure you are using the site where you registered: European support customers should have registered at the European site, and Americas/Asia-Pacific support customers should have registered at the Americas/Asia-Pacific site.
If you do not have a User ID and Password for the IT Resource Center, please register.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - November 2003!

Hi again,

sorry, another spelling error: in my previous posting "not" should have been "now".
Somehow this caused the meaning to be pushed in the wrong direction...

regards,
John K.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - November 2003!

Just a couple of infuriating issues:
1) Why are there seperate sites for the American / European forums? This often means you have to login again if you happen to 'jump across' sites, and accessibility to documentation sites is invariably denied.
2) Forum folk who repeatedly utilise the expertise of the service provided but NEVER seem to allocate points should be monitored and locked out after, say, a specified threshold is reached. Appreciation for people's efforts should be shown!

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - November 2003!

Forums still returns an error message from Opera 7.23, "Could not open URL." I reported it to Opera, but is it really them at fault?

Gene

P.S. BTW, Opera is so much faster loading pages on this forum than IE6 it's embarassing.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - November 2003!

Gene, that is a known issue. Opera dev team has already reloved their part of the story, HP has not :(

Temporary workaround is to add a small text file as attachment (like I just did)

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - November 2003!

So that's why you have that little tag-file now.. I was wondering about that!

Oh, continuing issue with attachments, viewing them. Still prompts for action (IE6SP2).

I'm happy to say thought that they are usable again, for like the first time this week! I've not had an un-available all morning! *whee!*does a lil dance*

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - November 2003!

Hi Dan,

into which list do go the posts rated with zero points? Into /dev/null? :^)

Please, show the awarded points in the list.

Michael

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - November 2003!

Hi Dan,

I have a problem with the advanced search.
I am looking for two words and I choose all words(left criteria) and I get pages with only one word found.

greetings,

Michael

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - November 2003!

This thread's initial creation post apparently contains virus code.

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=281686

The attachement should be deleted.

Or the thread should be nuked, its not in a valid location anyway. Before you nuke it, read it, there may be a copy of the virus in the windows forum.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - November 2003!

getting a few errors just now:

Could Not Open URL
The URL you requested does not exist or is not retrievable at this site. You can return to the HP IT Resource Center home page (itrc.hp.com).
(Error HTTP_404)

and:

service unavailable
The service you are trying to access is currently unavailable. Please try again later.

forums-120001

Multiple-refresh in order to get it work.

Also had one page come up with the core of the document (had the proper hp headers) were saying:

???en.null???

I figured it couldn't pull data from a database..

Other than these errors just now, it's been nice and quick and stable all day.

Hi Dan,

Just to inform you.

the following thread shows a weird page configuration. It is a two column page now:

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - November 2003!

It's December. Time for a new thread.

Had to give up on the forum last night around 10PM EST. Too many "not founds" then my login disappeared. Seems to be working OK today tho.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - November 2003!

Today, have two little issues...

Could Not Open URL
The URL you requested does not exist or is not retrievable at this site. You can return to the HP IT Resource Center home page (itrc.hp.com).
(Error HTTP_404)

Only a few of these.

And whilst trying to access:

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/publicProfile.do?userId=CA71765&forumId=1

I was getting 'cannot find user id'. Happened twice, 3rd time lucky.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - November 2003!

Remind me never to use this site to test internet.

I just took a private client through Yahoo DSL hell, finally established a steady connection with an old cable/ppoe router and thought it wasn't working.

It was itrc service unavailable messages.

Grrrr.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - November 2003!

Dear team, in the "patches" section there might be some new messages in the upcomming future from new user ID CA1057599

These messages are to be removed, but please, only on requests like "Please remove now" or a specific call here.

These messages are for testing Opera and Dan knows about it

Hi Dan,

it seems like my answer has confused this thread:

Maybe you have to delete my answer.

Andreas,
I had the exact same thing happen to me.

Check the upper right hand of your screen. The server should display. You will probably find that the wrong server is being loaded for you.

Click the link to the appropriate country, found just belong the login/password prompts.
