As usual, I am looking for your feedback on the highlights and successes you have had while using the ITRC Forums. Your feedback helps convey the positive influences the forums have had on your IT life. For example, have you:

1. Posted a question and received a key answer that solved your problem?
2. Have you viewed a message thread that had a solution to a problem you were trying to solve?
3. Found the Forums to be of particular help in sharing information, exchanging best practices, or saving you time?

I'd really like to hear from everyone -- your circumstances, the issues, the outcome, who was of help, time saved, etc.! If you have examples to share, please provide the URL of the thread if possible.

1) The forum has indeed stabilized & appears to be much more solid than in the recent past.

2) I REALLY like the enhancement whereby the question now appears in the Reply screen.

3) I also like the ability to choose where I wish to go upon submitting a reply.

These were 3 of the top things I was hoping for in the new version.

Hi Dan,
Two issues in this reply.
1. The last batch of changes to the forums is great. Right now I'm reading your original question for this post ... which is only one of the changes ... but a very important one (helps to focus the answers).

2. In my ongoing "Gem of the month"-award the blue ribbon (and it was a VERY difficult choice this month - see my earlier reply) goes to my favorite "tag-team" Olympian James / Pharaoh Stefan. James didn't get the points for it yet, but the link he posted in http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x83328f960573d611abdb0090277a778c,00.html and which was a reply to Stefan's description of this document is MANDATORY reading for anyone facing the "curse" :-) of having (oracle) databases on their servers.

It seems that a lot of my "permanent" problems (I've been wrestling with storage configuration for years now - first as a DBA and these last 1,5 years as a SYSAdmin) are being solved (+/- storage configuration will always change :-) this month.

Procura, I made graduate today (514 points and growing). People have been pretty good about assigning points. Reading the questions and replies have increased my knowledge.
