Something strange going on here! Take a look at Volker Borowski's points for June 21 and June 26... he seems to be going backwards! He was on 2494, but is now on 2483

Yes, I noticed. Strange things happen on dynamic pages. I'm planning to inhibit losing points :)

This is also the reason why in previous reports the fast list had people that were not realy fast, but had a `dip' in the statistics: week 3 = 3000 points, week 4 = 650 points (somehow wrong), week 5 = 3015 points (real raise = 15, detected raise = 2365 which is likely to be a fast riser :)

I guess these will never be ferfect, but as long as we pay attention, at least proove useful :)

I'd have to go with #3 on your list, as I have always considered the HP forums to be a vital part of my overall HP-UX education. While the published HP-UX material gives me a solid base to start with, the forums provide a real world example of problems that may arise.

Not only does the forum enhance one's troubleshooting skills, but it also provides a unique collaboration of the "cream of the crop" technical minds to learn from. While I myself only have 3 years of HP-UX experience, I can learn from others who have been working with HP-UX for 10+ years. I figure that no one person knows everything about any flavor of UNIX, so brining together those who may be close is about as good as it gets.

Again this morning I was asked to help with a mux strip/modem issue. After a few hours of banging my head against my monitor, installing patches, scanning IO devices, and trying to figure out why the hell the device path keeps saying "UNCLAIMED" and "UNKNOWN", I said to myself "search for the answer on itrc you fool". Unfortunately I had to return to my office to do such. But after getting back to the office and starting a search I was able to find the answer I needed with the second hit in the search list. The answer pointed me directly into the tigers eyes -> you need to install the mux/modem application. So now I have the device as CLAIMed and defined as a pci_mux - thanks itrc!

Now its time to play with the modems!

i joined last year, but i was not active. but now a days iam very much adicted to forums, an d iam enjoying. i got beautiful replies for my questions, which i think is possible through forums only. further iam more satisfied with my answers are being appreciated and getting points. thanks to forums which made it possible.

Forum is a great idea as i am a hardware engineer and the help on here is most useful. One big problem i have with the forum is that there is no search option within the forum, this seems to be a big minus as you are unable to search to see if your question has been answered, which would save the people who answer the queries time

are there any plans to introduce this option
