Ports need to be open for HP-openview operations
HI,
I have open-view operations installed on windows server and I need to monitor my UNIX server.OV-Agent is using 12001-12010 ports..
I had successfully installed OV-agent in UNIX server. But I tried to connect these ports using telnet getting this error. Please help me out to configure these ports in my UNIX server and how can I check these ports, that they are opened or not??
e.g.:
telnet 12001
Trying...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused....
Rgds

Telnet.
"Connection refused" normally means that
you've reached the other computer, but it has
no one listening at the specified port.
I'd assume that either you don't have the
right port numbers or else you need to run
some software which listens on those ports.
