We've started using lpspool on a N4000 machine running HPUX 11.00 (5 years old now).
When a printer is moved, or the machine is rebooted, we have to stop/start the spooler to get the printer(s) happy again.
It just seems a little sensitive really, maybe there are some patches/updates.
All help rewarded - thanks in advance
Simon

Simon,
At the very least I would make sure I had the lp spool subsystem cumulative patch applied:

Re: Possible problem with lpspool
You can look in /var/adm/lp/log. There might be some helpful messages in there.
