Re: powerpath on hpux

Hi Shiv:

"PowerPath" is EMC2's product. It provides dynamic load-balancing for LVM pvlinks.

Remember that alternate links (pvlinks) provide high-availability for LVM disks. If one path fails, the other automatically takes over. With LVM pvlinks, however, only *one* path is actually used for I/O.

Powerpath offers *both* dynamic load-balancing of I/O *and* the ability to sustain all I/O to a physical device in the event that all other paths are lost.

Regards!

Hi Shiv,

Powerpath is from EMC, it offers dynamic multipathing, fail-over strategies, load balancing on Unix and Windows servers connected to Storage arrays.

When you buy a Clariion, you will get Powerpath for free.

You can find more information at, http://www.emc.com/products/software/powerpath.jsp
