We had a drive failure and I thought that was one of the things predictive monitored...and we didn't get a call from anyone at HP. Problems started Monday and I know predictive ran through the week.

Anyway, look at your mail log and see if you have any predmail stuff recently, if not then there has not been any communication between your box and hp.

Fire up psconfig
select option 3 TEST
select option 2 test
Then monitor connection on console and look for errors.

Next step is then to check the permission on the psaction file:-
in /opt/pred/bin
-r--r--r-- 1 root sys 4455 Sep 13 01:41 psaction
