Re: Primary boot path
1. Remove /dev/dsk/c0t6d0 from vg00, and you have to start from the scratch,.
# vgreduce vg00 /dev/dsk/c0t6d0
2. Check disk6 with ioscan: that it is correct.
also check # ioscan -m dsf
-I understand disk6 is the target disk you want to mirror with disk9 (source boot disk).
3. use # idisk -R /dev/rdisk/disk6 to remove exixting partition on disk6 , & to start from scratch.
4. Do not use the script , but execute the commands one by one from begining. Follow the document page81,
Raj.

Re: Primary boot path
1. - check the partition file contains are correct, make sure 4 lines in there are correct. You can remove the file and create it manually.
3
EFI 500MB
HPUX 100%
HPSP 400MB
2. To do :
# idisk -R /dev/rdisk/disk6 #( where disk6 is the target disk )
Then follow the steps again,
Thanks,
Raj.

Re: Primary boot path
My issue is that when I install the OS 11.31 it got installed in one external drive...
Selected boot option: HP-UX Primary Boot: 1/0/2/1/0.0x8.0x0
Loading.: HP-UX Primary Boot: 1/0/2/1/0.0x8.0x0
Executing Image: "\EFI\HPUX\HPUX.EFI"
Optional Data : NONE
Starting: HP-UX Primary Boot: 1/0/2/1/0.0x8.0x0
Now I want this to be on an Internal drive..
how to do this.... what are the requirements my on 11.31 servers... any special packages should be there or what...

Re: Primary boot path
You have to mirror the existing os (External drive , as you mentioned) , to an internal drive , ( as you mentioned disk6).
After mirroring , change the boot path , change primary boot path to the internal disk using setboot -p /dev/rdisk/disk6 & reboot and verify.
- Just wondering what is the output of the current boot disk , for ioscan -fnC disk & for diskinfo. Hope you are sure it is on external disk. Is it from XP or EMC..
Mirroring process outlined in Page,81 in the doc. I am travelling and with limited internet availability. :)
For any other problem please open a new thread as the subject doesn't match with the content issue.
Hope this helps,
Raj.

Re: Primary boot path
First, read the manuals, everything you have tried to do is documented there.
Second, try taking an HP-UX Sysadmin and the LVM courses, they will alos help you.
