printer disable; is it persistent across system reboots?

I have disabled a printer, and I would like to know if the printer will remain disabled after a system reboot and when the scheduler is stopped and restarted?

I haven't tested the status after reboot. But scheduler restart will not change the status of the disabled printers. It will remain disabled after scheduler stop and restart.

Yes, a disabled printer remains disabled after a reboot.

I have 3 printers on one server that are disabled for various reasons. They stayed disabled when I last rebooted the system.

I still find it somewhat illogical, but further investigation suggests that Patrick is right, and the fact that Patrick is never wrong just about guarantees it!

I was looking at various man pages and the rc scripts. Turns out print startup is simply an invocation of lpsched and there doesn't seem to be any clearing of anything beforehand.

Sorry I led you astray and thanks to Patrick for cleaning up another of my messes.
