Solution
Hi,
you can use SAM:
SAM -> Printers and Plotters -> LP Spooler -> Printers and Plotters ->
Actions -> Add Local Printer/Plotter -> Add Parallel Printer/Plotter...
Printer Name: queue_name(free choice)
Printer Model/Interface: dumb
OK
This will install a dumb (text files) printer to the centronics/parallel interface.
To test it:
lp -d /etc/copyright

Re: Printer Installation
Hi,
Via SAM is good way but I had recently problem with port on HP-10.20.
I tried add printer via SAM but I could not find parallel interface.

Re: Printer Installation
The SAM procedure will work OK, the thing to check is if the parallel interface is claimed by the OS. Sometimes a standard load does not include it, do an 'ioscan -f' command and check the CentIf line. It should be something like this:
ext_bus 1 2/0/6 CentIf CLAIMED INTERFACE Built-in Parallel Interface
This is only if you want to use the parallel I/F on the box. If you do, and it is not claimed, you will need to add the CentIf driver to the kernel. Use SAM - Kernel Configuration - Drivers, or manualy via system_prep and mk_kernel.
