A problem occurred doing "lpadmin -dlinelj". Stderr from this command is "/usr/sbin/lpadmin: can't open system default destination file".
Unable to make the default destination printer "linelj" because of
above error(s).
and second problem is
a print job keeps printing every minute never stops printing

Solution#lpshut
#lpadmin -xlinelj (note no space after x)
#lpsched
for second problem..check the print queue for that spooler using
lpstat
is nothing in the queue, then disable/enable the printer and power cycle the printer which should clear everything in buffer.
If the printer still spits out prints then it could be some application printing that..
And yes you could check who is doing this by disabling the print queue and check after a while whats in the queue and who is printing using lpstat..you can check the jobs in /var/spool/lp/request/

Re: (printer not stopping)
if you do want to remove printer via SAM, check:
# ll /var/spool/lp/default
-rw-r--r-- 1 lp lp 12 Nov 17 2003 /var/spool/lp/default

Re: (printer not stopping)
what is happining is the request/linlj/files this directory does not not get emptied and I have to do a cancel linelj_## to remove it from the queue or it will end up reprinting the files. What would cause the spooler not to remove the entry?

Re: (printer not stopping)
Cancal any existing jobs for this printer.
cd /var/spool/lp/interface
edit linelj and look for a line
TEOJ="XXX" (where XXX is anything)
and replace it with
TEOJ=""
and save the file.
