Problem booting vpar from Ignite SD
Hi all,
I have this problem of which I dont know wether it is an Ignite problem or a vpar problem.
I build a vpar “test1” on an hp-ux box.
I set up an ignite server on that same vpar.
Set up a software depot from the install cd’s and added vpar software to the depot.
Build a second vpar “test2” and try to boot the new vpar from the install source using:
vparboot -p test2 -I test1,/opt/ignite/boot/Rel_B.11.23/WINSTALL
The installation looks good a first sight but ends with:

/stand/vmunix".
WARNING: The configuration is supposed to include a module 'vcn' which

proceed without it, but the resulting kernel may fail to boot
or function properly.

* Adding version information to new kernel...
* /stand/system has been imported. The changes have been applied
to the currently running system.
* Build_Kernel: Complete
* Boot_From_Client_Disk: Begin
* Rebooting machine as expected.
NOTE: Rebooting system.

After rebooting the new vpar boot sequence stops at:

Console Login:

Kernel file is not relocatable for test2

What can be the problem?
Thanks for any input.
Regards,
Lex

Re: Problem booting vpar from Ignite SD
See this messages:
"Kernel file is not relocatable for test2"
This indicates your depot does not contain the vPar software.
Make sure you install the vPar depot along with the OS.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Problem booting vpar from Ignite SD
Ran into the same issue way back when...
Patch issue.. Check the release notes for the vPar package.
