hpux 11.11
Help me solve this mystery -
I am downloading this custom patch bundle with mozilla directly to the server. I upload the inventory.xml file without problems get a list of patches I select, about 500MB. When I start the download, I specify that I want it in /var/tmp. It says it's downloading yet there is nothing in /var/tmp and it's size is certainly not changing.
However, "/" partition is changing and it's space is dicreasing until it gets to be almost 100% full. But I don't see anything there, either. Certainly not the .tgz patch file. How can this be? Where is the file going?
Very strange.

Shalom,
Plus you are doing it as root.
Look at the browser preferences.
They store tempoary files in the user home directory before moving them and close of download. This fills the root file system.
Use the browser preferences to relocate all that good stuff to a location with space.
