hi

i want to save the details of a process (%cpu,%memory, etc..)in a file .how can i do taht

Yes, take a look at above link,
and you may use the following code to find out the top memory users and pid
#!/bin/sh
# VSZ is in KB
echo "VSZ(KB) PID RUSER COMMAND"
UNIX95= ps -e -o 'vsz pid ruser args' |sort -nr|head -30
