ProCurve 2524 Transceiver Mode

Hi,

We have 5 Procurve 2524 switches stacking together. On port 25 where transceiver connecting each other, I see the mode is 1000hdx.

Should we set it manually into 1000fdx? I put Commander switch auto grap and all swtiches are auto-configured. I have two 10m hubs connected with a couple of ports though.

Please comment and thanks a lot.

Re: ProCurve 2524 Transceiver Mode

Hi Steven.

You can not manually set 1000Base-T or the Gig-Stacking transceiver ports to 1000FDx. The only option for these is AUTO.

Use the front panel 2524 "mode" button to check the duplex setting. Set mode to FDx. The corresponign LED for the Gig-Stacking transceiver ports should light up which indicates these ports are running at 1000FDx even though the web/telnet interface lists them as 1000HDx.

Expect a firmware upgrade in the future to fix this cosmetic issue.

furhtermore there is no other way then running 1000mb in FD HD isn't even an option at all so even if the device lies to you it'll always run in FD
