I've ran psconfig multiple times with an external modem and it will not allow calls in.
When setting up the modem through the psconfig menus, it indicates that it gets set. When the 8-VALIDATE/list modem port is selected, it shows a 'n' for allowing dialing in.
Is there something else need set? My other servers are okay and they use the same modem.
We switched modems and no difference.

Hi,
Probably after the daily dial-out be predictive, you should run kermit/wermit or other dialer software to reset the modem to ATA mode.
From the security perspective, allowing dial-in to servers is a very bad idea. A wardialler program can easily be used against you and attempt userid/passwd combinations on detected modems.
If you really have to, enforce at least a two-factor authentication.

Thanks for feedback. The HP CE has been trying to get the callback to work and we wanted to be sure that it will work. This is the only server where we can't get it to be configured. It's an N4000 server. We also swapped modems and still same result.
Will try the reset.
