PV3 mounts not going away

We recently switched our 10.20 machines from PV2 to PV3 automounter. All machines are now running the processes automountd and autofs_proc. It works fine when we want to see something, but if I do the "mount" command, I see mounts from days and weeks ago. The automounter does not seem to be clearing out unused mounts. I thought the default was 5 minutes for unused mounts. Anybody have any ideas why this is happening?
Thanks in Advance,
Theresa

Re: PV3 mounts not going away

I guess I am not sure what I am looking for. I don't see anything unusual when I do nfsstat -m and bdf. bdf shows the size of each of the mounted directories and nfsstat -m seems to show basically the same stuff for all of the mounts. I don't know if there is something in particular I should look for in the results, but they look fine to me.

Re: PV3 mounts not going away

Hi,

If an automounted file system has been idle for 5 minutes, AutoFS unmounts it.

Try stop and restart autofs once and see the result.

Re: PV3 mounts not going away

Thanks for the responses. I thought that unused filesystems should be unmounted after 5 minutes, but that is not what is happening on my machines. The mounts seem to stay on forever. I have just turned on automount logging and will watch to see if anything shows up there. Until then any other thoughts would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Theresa
