Q4 - Procedures for core Analysis

I have read many a core questions in the past, and have used much of the advice.
I am trying to find the complete HP procedures for using Q4 to analyze files. Due to our confidentiality issues, we cannot send our crash files in to HP, therefore we are attempting to examine them to the best of our ability.

Thank You

Re: Q4 - Procedures for core Analysis

Greg,

As someone who earns his living reading hp-ux panic's, I can tell you, just knowing q4 isn't really going to help much. Pretty much 10secs after running the analyze or whathappened scripts your going to need hp-ux source code access. While the HP response centres can do something with the output of either script, unless the answer is in the knowledge database that just won't be enough.

Btw, at hp-ux 11, the core dump only (by default) has kernel information saved in it. No user data is saved. This was done for mainly for the space requirements, but I'm sure to help with the sensitivity issue that some customers face.
