QPK march 04 installation on 11.0
Hi all,
Please tell me what all things i have to notice and what precaution should i take when i install QPK patch bundle. Should i check any patch dependencies ?
So far i have not installed any QPK pundles, only HW Enhancement bundles of mar 03 are installed. My server is running with hpux 11.0 with SAP R/3 and oracle 8i application.
I have planned to take ignite and full backup of data.
Please advice..
thanks in advance

Re: QPK march 04 installation on 11.0
Just installed it two weeks ago.
2 X Ignite tape + full backup (just to be shure) :-)
moved the oracle start scripts in the /sbin/init.d
installed Hardware firmware (PDC l-class) reboot
installed gsp update reboot
installed the latest HWE patch bundle reboot
installed the latest QPK patch bundle reboot
installed Diagnostic and Support Tools for the HP 9000 reboot
before oracle was started I asked the ora admin to relink oracle (just to be shure)
I know some admin copy all patches into one bundle, but I could get the downtime.
Hope this helps,
Robert-Jan

Re: QPK march 04 installation on 11.0
Hi,
Done the Installation a couple of weeks ago in HA-environment.
The only problem encountered:
A application has to be re-compiled due the new Libc patch.
We've seen a performance improvement on I/O & Memory usage.
Good Luck
