Quality pack
It will only mark partial at the mark for install step excluding PHKL_21276,a=HP-UX_B.11.00_64,v=HP and a few others with the _64 (i guess they are for 64 bit).
After analysis it shows ready with errors
products 367 of 429.
It installed to 46% then suspended. I had nothing else to do but reboot
bus errors all over the place at boot up. I have to reload don't I?

swjob -a log hostname-#### hostname:/
#### replaced with the job nubmer of the install.
The installation is incomplete, and needs to be redone if you want the quality pack installed. I'd check the error first.

Re: Quality pack
Much more serious.
Do you have a make_tape_recovery backup handy?
You need to boot off that tape and restore the system to where it was before the patch.
Since the system became a paperweight as a result of the patch installation, it seems reasonable to reverse that step.
boot the box with the tape in the drive
Interupt at the 10 second prompt
sea
bo P#
N Don't Interact
P# should be the P number of the sequential(tape) drive.

Re: Quality pack
Your license might not be valid, but thats not my problem.
At this point, I would do the following.
Boot the system off the core OS CD.
You might be able to boot into a recovery shell and fix the problem.
If however, you just installed the OS anyway, you should re-install the OS.
Make sure you include Ignite and start doing make_tape_recovery backups to presere your work.
You have checked that the hardware is compatible right?

Re: Quality pack
As far as backing out of the depot - I'm not the expert on such matters and will defer... but that at least should hopefully get you rebooted.
