Queries on Ignite-UX Software

1. Is it possible to Install the Ignite-UX software on the STAND-ALONE system instead of a server?

2. How to set the file permissions in the golden image?

3. How to turn-on Auditing and logging?

4. How to fix values for the password, like PASSWORD_HISTORY_DEPTH, MIN_PASSWORD_LENGHT, PASSOWRD_MAXDAYS etc.....

Re: Queries on Ignite-UX Software

Yes you can install Ignite on stand alone system.
Here is main site for Ignite-UX - http://docs.hp.com/en/IUX/, when you can download it. Administration guide - http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-90997/index.html

For changing PASSWORD_HISTORY... and other setting see /etc/default/security.

Re: Queries on Ignite-UX Software

1. If by standalone you mean a workstation or a system that does not have LAN then the answer is yes.

2.

3. You can do this in SAM

4. I think you can also define this in SAM.

Re: Queries on Ignite-UX Software

Shalom,

1) Yes but there are obvious limitations. make_net_recovery is almost useless, you'll need a tape drive and to use make_tape_recovery.

2) The default as created by the make_sys_image

3) Convert to trusted system. SAM is easiest here.

4) /etc/default/security
