Question about DVD Boot from Integrity Server
If i obtain a DVD Boot from a rx2620 machine (integrity system) to apply the ignite recovery tape. Can i use this DVD boot to Boot in other machine (rx4620) and then apply the ignite recovery tape already obtained from this rx4640?
The obstacles are those things that the people see when they left to see their goals.

Re: Question about DVD Boot from Integrity Server
Shalom Javier,
If the tape drive is attached to the system, you should be able to boot directly from it.
You can probably succed using the tape from the rx4640, the hardware differences are there but no so radical as to cause failure.
There will be an extra boot or two to deal with hardware changes.

Re: Question about DVD Boot from Integrity Server
You need to boot from the install DVD in order to restore the backup from tape. Select
-> Install HP-UX -> select Advanced Installation -> Recovery tape -> GO!
Now you should interact with the utility to make adjustments (hostname, IP, etc..
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Question about DVD Boot from Integrity Server
Hi,
you can use the Boot DVD for the other machine (rx4640) and the recovery tape but I think you should prefer a clean installation (it employs little time) from hpux 11i v2 DVD because the hardware is a bit different in the two machine.
