questions about lp
I want to know if exists any kind of compression between hpux and jetdirect when printing a file.
I need to print huge files in a slow WAN.
What can I use (hw or sw) ?
Thanks.

Re: questions about lp
You can print with jet direct. The only problem is that it will be slow. I don't know which type of printer you are using, you can increase the idle timeout parameter of the printer, if you face any kind of problem.

Re: questions about lp
If you have a "server" that is on the same local LAN as the jetdirect, you could configure your print queue to shuffle the print job to another server.
My 2 cents

Re: questions about lp
I think you might have to write some small scripts to handle this.
good luck...
