kindly help me out on these two question

1. How do u boot from a different path?
2. How to find bootable devices in PDC?

2. Interupt the boot at the 10 second prompt. Type SEA, then hit enter

1. BO P1 or one of the other paths displayed in the previous command.

Just because they are displayed does not make them all bootable.

Answer to second question

PDC>SEA IPL

At PDC prompt will list all boot capable devices. These devices which has LIF header will be listed in the output alongwith LAN devices which can boot through LAN.

Hi Shruti ,

Here it is:

1. While booting , interupt normal boot process: And from MAIN MENU , at PDC , select a differnt path to boot from :
Example: Main Menu> boot 0/1/4/0.0.0


2. To see the bootable device : from PDC use :
> search IPL

When you turn on an HP machine, the PDC starts execution and checks system memory and peripherals. Before starting the automatic boot-up from the primary boot device, it stops for ten seconds to allow the user to interrupt the boot process. It displays a message like the following on the screen.

Processor is starting autoboot
To discontinue press a key within 10 seconds.
1, PRESS ANY KEY TO STOP AUTO BOOT.
Main Menu: Enter command or menu >
2, SCAN ALL BOOTABLE DEVICE
Main Menu: Enter command or menu >SEA IPL
