I am running the latest version of Ignite (C.6.8.152) and often, when I do "Add new client for recovery", it times out and I have to close the window. The timeout is as long as 30 mins sometimes. Then in the main Ignite window, that client suddenly shows up. Other times I have to close the application and restart it, then the client shows up.
I have the exports done correctly, .rhosts for use with remsh, et al.
Why is this happeng, do I need a patch?

Solution
Shalom,
In general, I have found for reasons that are mysterious to me, Ignite doesn't patch. They simply release a new version and we have the fun of rebuiling all of our configuration and image files.
I would suggest:
tail -f /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
This might help with the error.
I would check for non-ignite trouble sources such as networking and permissions. This seems like it migh not be and Ignite issue.

Re: "Add new client for recovery" times out
Problem is, everything works, kind of, just times out and takes a long time. I already run a tail -f on that log file and it doesn't show anything abnormal.
remsh works, ssh works, so does nfs and all other components, I cannot narrow down the timeout to any particular issue.

Re: "Add new client for recovery" times out
Turns out my interface was half-duplex. After I reset it to 100FD (Full Duplex) it started working much faster. No more timeouts.
