"Intruder Alert" message displayed when NIS died/unbound

Have a bunch of identical HP-UX 11.11 workstations that NIS had failed on.

Anyone with finger in their path received the message welcoming message "Intruder alert".

Can someone tell me which HP patch put in this beauty... A google search returned

who/finger could not access nis passwd file.
