"path too deep"

we are having a problem here in the office while copying some files, a message "cannot access file path too deep" appears. What shall we do, can anyone help me about this? Thanks in advance.

Can you give more details on that? what files you are trying to get? Is it NFS mounted or local files?

Can you post the full path name to those files? Try to cd to the full path of the directory and copy them.

Before, which platform (operating system) you are getting errors? Please elloborate that.

Search shows that problem is related with samba.

im not the one who actually experienced that problem, it was my partner. The OS is windows 2000. I will ask my friend here for some more details and inform you about that next time, we will just discuss the matter. thank u very much for your time.
