SolutionAFAIK, there's no way to do that with the internal disks. You'd need that 4si RAID card & an array like the DS2300 at a minimum.

Re: RAID -5 on internal disks of RP3410 or RP5405
That's going to make Raid 5 somewhat difficult. Raid 5 works better when there are more disks to spread the data over.
The OE does have striping as an option but thats not true Raid 5. I think thats going to require some hardware and some place to keep the disks.

Re: RAID -5 on internal disks of RP3410 or RP5405
Although HP-UX 11i comes with a VxVM port for this OS I'm not sure if this port is capable of plexing internal disks to RAID.
I'm only using VxVM on our Solaris boxes, while LVM on the HP-UX boxes.
Maybe you can give it a try?

Or, if you are intrested in protection use LVM with Mirror and mirror as follows: half of the first disk to half of the second, the last half of the second to half of the third disk, and the last half of the third disk to the last half of the first disk.

Re: RAID -5 on internal disks of RP3410 or RP5405
On rp3410 you can use hardware RAID-5. You can buy PCI 4-channel RAID160 SA SCSI Controller (A7143A) and SA internal cables (A9827A).
