RAID5 with Veritas VM
OS: HP-UX 11i
Disk: FC10(73GB x 30) & DS2405 (73GB x 15)
Total Disk space: 3.485 TB
I would like to configure RAID5 with Veritas VM because FC10 & DS2405 storage doesn't support RAID5 at disk level.
Since this is my first RAID5 configuration with Veritas VM(3.5 version), I don't know how to configure and how much data space I can have excluding parity space in disks.
Please help me out

Re: RAID5 with Veritas VM
Hi Brian,
Your question is too general, the best way to do is read the manual. Since you have two different storage, you may need to consider "read policy" when you setup your volume.
Try this url, if it doesn't work, go to www.docs.hp.com, then put "vxvm" as your key word, do search over there.
http://www.docs.hp.com/cgi-bin/fsearch/framedisplay?top=/hpux/onlinedocs/5971-4765/5971-4765_top.html&con=/hpux/onlinedocs/5971-4765/00/00/12-con.html&toc=/hpux/onlinedocs/5971-4765/00/00/12-toc.html&searchterms=vxvm&queryid=20040518-100429
VxVM is more powerful and flexible, comparing with LVM, have fun!
