RAM memory consuption 100%
Dear guys,
from 2 days we're experiencing a sad behaviour on our L2000 box.
Performing a swapinfo -tma the result shows 100% of RAM consuption but we have no process running on it except DataProtector 5.5 server and cell manager.
In addition a message showing: prngd[2108]: Could not fork: Not enough space is present on system log.
The swap memory is at 100% but if we add another swap volume the RAM seems to become used at about 15%. Issuing a sar -v 1 5 shows nproc inod end nfile are not full.
Any ideas,
Thanks,
Alessandro

Re: RAM memory consuption 100%
Alessandro!
Looks like you are swapping way too much for the "could not fork" error.
Please send us the output for swapinfo -tam and vmstat 5 20 please to analized those and be able to give you some direction.
Regards,
Jaime.

Re: RAM memory consuption 100%
Now we are trying to reconfigure swap space.
We have a Java application running on this box and it could be possible that the java garbage collector isn't releasing unused memory!
I'll take you informed.
Alessandro.
