RAW F/S Creation
Hi,
I got below Mention mail any one kindly help!!!
Please open a ticket with Unix Admin team to split a currently unused
2048 MB raw device into eight (8) 256 MB raw devices on HP-UX 25.
Here is the free raw device, which can be use to re-create as 8 x 256
MB raw devices owned by 'sybase' –
/dev/vg01/lrvol191 2048 (Mbytes)
vgdisplay vg01
--- Volume groups ---
VG Name /dev/vg01
VG Write Access read/write
VG Status available
Max LV 255
Cur LV 127
Open LV 127
Max PV 255
Cur PV 5
Act PV 5
Max PE per PV 7679
VGDA 10
PE Size (Mbytes) 16
Total PE 38390
Alloc PE 36902
Free PE 1488
Total PVG 1
Total Spare PVs 0
Total Spare PVs in use 0
1)pls provide steps
2)command to create.

Just use lvcreate to create your new LVOLs.
No need to create a file system (newfs) if you want to use them as raw devices.

First you must delete 'lrvol191' using lvremove.
Then - as has been stated above - you can use
the freed up space to create new vols.
