rcp problem

I hv two bash server ( server A and server B ) in remote site , server A have rcp file to server B , after the file was copied to server B , I still found a process "rcp -t" in server B , and a rcp process in server A , and it seems something still transferring in between them ( check with the VPN ) , then these processes will be disappear around 20-25 minutes later , can advise what is the problem ? how to make sure the process will be kill after the copying is finished ( so that the VPN connection is released ASAP) . thx

Re: rcp problem

Hi,
I don't know what a 'bash server' is - the command 'bash' spawns a shell, which is available for many many OSs.
So what HP-UX versions (or what OSs) are on serverA and serverB?

What behaviour do you see when doing a
rcp fff localhost:/tmp
(permissions have to be granted)?

Seeing VPN is involved: try to change to scp instead rcp - that's a more common way to transfer files in such an environment, IMHO.
