Reduce number of paths to a Lun - autopath

I'm running a HP-UX 11.23 connected to a XP 12000. My version of AUTOPATH is 3.0F.

In this server, I have 18 paths for each Lun. I want to remove some paths because I'm over the limit of Luns/HBA.

From the XP, I tried to remove the "LU Path" but i received a error message: "device busy", something like this...

So, I removed the special files from HP-UX first: rmsf -H 0/0/8/1/1.5.30.0.0.5.3

After that, i removed the paths from the XP. Ok... but now, in the "autopath display", i see that paths as "failed":

$sudo /sbin/autopath display -l 50_0-2A68-04C3

How can I remove that paths from autopath? I don't want see the "failed" status, I want make that paths desapear.

Note: autopath discover/retrieve does not work.

Any sugestion?

Reboot the machine, hope fully it will soloved the problems.

You are going to need to shut down the applications on the server that user these LUNS and umount the filesystems prior to doing your XP work.

Next time use autopath delete BEFORE removing the luns.
