Good morning.
I am planning to apply patches to one my hp server(C8000 Model).I downloaded the patches from the hp website in TAR format.During UNTAR it's giving following error.

Check if you have sufficient space in /tmp to install patch..it can be one of the possible cause of this issue.

SolutionI prefer downloading the patch files as a gzip archive. This allows a somewhat smaller download. Then, once they are on the HP-UX machine you can do:
# gzcat
to extract them from the archive.

I agree with Clay. This sounds like a corrupt download. Did you download from the HTTP site or did you downoad directly from ftp itrc.hp.com. Sometimes I would have to try two times before it downloaded correctly.
