Hello,
Please Help!
Since applying the latest HP-UX 11.0 patches, I have found remshd now logs into wtmp.
As we perform over 1000 remsh logins daily, is it possible to turn off remshd logging into wtmp?

Solution
Howard,
PHNE_17030 "fixed" remshd/rexecd so they would log to the /var/adm/wtmp and /var/adm/btmp. There isn't a hidden switch to disable this feature. However, if wtmp/btmp do NOT exist, then remshd/rexecd will not create them, and therefore won't log to them.
I'd suggest that if you need to pursue this issue further, that you Submit an Software call (via ITRC of course) requesting an enhancement to add a switch that disables wtmp/btmp logging by remshd/rexecd.
Best regards,
Brian Hackley
