replacing a mirrored OS disk

I have an N4000 running 11.00 and the disk for lvol1 (/stand) is bad so we are currently running on the alertnate mirroerd disk. I cannot even do a make_tape_recovery before the disk is removed because of the disk errors, but my main question is about replacing the drive and what steps are needed to take it out and replace it because I have heard conflicting stories, one of them being just to yank it out if it is hot swappable, which we decided not to do that until the disk is logically removed from the system, so what I am looking for here for the best idea to do that for disk c0t8d0.

Hi,

Already you got a good guide for this one. But if you are pretty lazy enough like me to go through these guides then just a simple bunch of commands right here for you to do Root Disk Mirroring.

Steps to be followed after you replace faulty disk and slot in new raw disk into machine.
