restricting NIS Users

Can we resrict nis users to access a particular system ..thought some nis users can access this machine in HPUX11

Is the point of NIS not to provide access of the same user to multiple systems?

If you truly want to restrict certain NIS users to one system, would it not be better that they be regular users on that one system instead of NIS users?

Seems that the goal stated would be achieved by that solution.

the same user should be able to use other
non-restricted machines

You need to use "netgroups".
