My questions are.. if I execute by mistake rmsf -H 0/0/8/0/0.1.7.39.0.11.7 against a device that already exists ok---disk 111 0/0/8/0/0.1.6.42.0.0.3 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP

Re: rmsf -H
Hi,
This is not a big problem, don't worry, just run the following command:
insf -e -H 0/0/8/0/0.1.6.42.0.0.3
If you are afraid that deleted more disk devices, run:
insf -e -C disk
Good luck

Re: rmsf -H
thanks victor
ups..
sorry by my spanish-english
With Insf -e -C disk, the special files back again...ok
but if one good special file erases by mistake, that disk is not disabled until I don't run the insf -and -C?
thanks

Re: rmsf -H
Hi,
doing rmsf will just delete the device file and will do nothing to the disk in question. You need to do a destructive write to damage the disk. doing rmsf just removes the device files.
you can do insf -e to recreate the device files and reaccess the disk in question.
Do man rmsf and insf for more help.
Hope this helps.
