ROC's Maestro and IBM's Tivoli
Can anybody tell me what the relationship of these two companies or their products is?

Re: ROC's Maestro and IBM's Tivoli
OK, now that is just downright confusing!!!
A few years ago IBM bought the company that produced the Maestro scheduling product. That product then went under the Tivoli software umbrella and is now known as IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler.
Now apparently ROC Software is making a scheduling package and using the Maestro name on it, ROC Maestro for Open Systems.
I don't think there is any relationship between IBM and ROC Software. At least none that I know of. I think it is a planned coincedence that there is now another product with the Maestro name. Probably an intentional marketing tactic on ROC's part.

Re: ROC's Maestro and IBM's Tivoli
Thanks Patrick. It was very confusing to me, especially when I saw that the Tivoli Workload Scheduler installs a "maestro" user.
