I would like to know what people recommend for the minimum, or optimum root disk size for
HP-UX 11iv2 (Itanium)
This will be on a Virtual machine
The only optinal filesets being installed will be ignite-ux.

Re: Root disk size for HP-UX 11iv2 VM IA64
A few hundred meg or the install recommended minimum is fine. Nothing but drivers and configuration files belong on root anyway.
That being said, I go for 1 GB so if someone accidentally dumps a cd to root the system doesn't halt.

Re: Root disk size for HP-UX 11iv2 VM IA64
I am used to work with a size of 50 Go for system disk, when clients have sufficient storage capacity and refuse to fall underneath 35 Go in other cases.
In all situations I dedicate vg00 for the only use of HP-UX

Re: Root disk size for HP-UX 11iv2 VM IA64
I suggest you refer to the table here:
http://docs.hp.com/en/5992-1978/ch02s02.html#d0e1489
I generally work on 25GB + Swap for vg00 on a VM.
